Women’s Bowling Club

Culburra Women’s Bowling Club was formed in 1967 and has always been a strong club in the South Coast District. We have had many players represented on all levels from District through to State.

Culburra has won many pennant flags and continues to have one of the largest number of pennant teams out of all the clubs in the South Coast District. It is often chosen to host District, Inter-District and State Events such as The State Carnival and The State Pennant Play-offs.
Our ladies attend tournaments state-wide and it is not unusual to see 5 to 6 Culburra teams at most local tournaments.
Every year we hold 2 tournaments. Our Open Triples tournament is held in May and is open to all clubs. It is sponsored by Culburra Bowling and Recreation Club. Our Black Swan Tournament is held in August and it is only for clubs in the South Coast District. It is sponsored by Wray Owen Funerals. Both tournaments are very well-attended.
Each year we hold a Mixed Charity Day to raise money for local charities. The Culburra & District Rural Fire Service and The Culburra & District Area Health Service are examples of these. We also hold a Friendship Day each year where our closest clubs as well as friends are invited to join us for a fun day on the green with lunch provided.
To finish off the year, we have a mixed Christmas Party and Concert where our multi-talented bowlers present delightful performances.
Culburra Ladies’ Bowling Club welcomes new members and also visitors from all clubs.
